The Latin American and Caribbean Solidarity Network (LACSN), based in Toronto, is a democratic, non-profit and independent organization, which brings together organizations that carry out work in solidarity with the progressive and democratic transformation processes taking place in Latin America and the Caribbean.
LACSN was created in August of 2008 with the objective of strengthening the coordination between its member organizations and its diverse activities of solidarity. In its initial stages its focus was solidarity with Honduras, Venezuela, Bolivia and Cuba. As part of its central activities LACSN has held educational workshops and conferences; actions in solidarity with the people of Latin America and the Caribbean who struggle for their rights; denounced any injustice on the part of the Canadian government, corporations or other organizations that violate the autonomy and sovereignty of the people of the region.
On September 26th 2010 LACSN held its first annual convention that resulted in the election of a coordinating committee. There was agreement to prioritize its efforts in 2011 on 3 main pillars: Anti Mining, Indigenous Sovereignty and Environmental Justice.
LACSN will continue to be an alternative and progressive political voice with a communitarian vision for the city of Toronto.

Quiénes Somos?
La Red Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Solidaridad (RLCS), con sede en la ciudad de Toronto, es una organización democrática, sin fines de lucro y autónoma, que agrupa a organizaciones que realizan trabajo solidario con los procesos de transformación democráticos que se desarrollan en América Latina y en el Caribe.
RLACS se formó en agosto del 2008 con el objetivo de fortalecer la coordinación entre sus organizaciones miembros y sus diversas actividades de solidaridad. De manera inicial se acordó poner mayor énfasis en los procesos de: Honduras, Venezuela, Bolivia y Cuba.
Dentro de sus actividades centrales, RLCS realiza foros y conferencias educativas de análisis político; acciones centrales de solidaridad en respuesta a la demanda de los pueblos latinoamericanos y del Caribe, en su lucha por sus derechos; denuncia cualquier injerencia de parte del Estado canadiense, de corporaciones u otras organizaciones que atenten contra la autodeterminación y soberanía de los pueblos.
El 26 de septiembre del 2010, RLCS llevó a cabo su primera convención anual en la cual se eligió un comité coordinador y se definió un plan de trabajo para el próximo año. Se acordó priorizar los esfuerzos para el 2011 en 3 pilares fundamentales: Lucha contra la Minería, la Soberanía Indígena y Justicia Ambiental.
RLCS seguirá representando una voz alternativa y progresista en el panorama comunitario y político de la ciudad de Toronto.
